Abbadia Castle in Hendaye

Standing opposite the ocean and overlooking the cliffs of Hendaye, the Abbadia Observatory Castle was built between 1864 and 1884 by the famous architect Eugene Viollet the Duke for Antoine d'Abbadie.

Listed as a Historic Monument and House of Illustrious, the castle of neo-Gothic architecture bears the many marks of its owner that you can observe with a decoration in connection with the many travels of the scholar, frescoes with African symbols, etc.).
